About

Mission Statement

The Lima Junior Service League is a non–profit social organization committed to promoting children’s literacy through fundraising and service to our community.

The Lima Junior Service League was organized in 1935. We currently have 27 active members and 5provisional members. All League members volunteer a minimum of 30 hours each year to League activities and/or non-League activities that further the mission of children’s literacy. Each league member commits to serve the organization for ten years.

Reading Is Fundamental

Reading Is Fundamental

is our major donation to our community every year. Lima Junior Service League members go to the six Lima City Elementary Schools two to three times each year and give away books to students in Kindergarten through fifth grade.
